Here are a few tips for step by step release of your music, whether you're distributing a single, album or EP via a MusicXR subscription you'll find these tips useful to speed up the process.

STEP 1 Go to sign up page and create an account here: MusicXR Distribution Sign-Up once you fill out the email and password screen you will go to an official SIGN-UP page to enter basic information.

STEP 3 Enter Release Details – Click the New Release button top right corner of the MusicXR dashboard. In the “Release Details” tab, select the distribution plan, either for yourself or an artist you manage. (With MusicXR, you can create and manage your own independent label, and this is where you choose the plan for each artist or band.) Then, specify the type of release: Single, Album, or EP. The free version defaults to “Single.” Complete the required fields, marked in red, such as the label name and release title.

STEP 4 Click the “Artwork” tab, upload your artwork for a single or album. We recommend you submit a 3000 x 3000 JPEG or PNG between 1 and 10 MB. Detailed specs here: 

• We recommend square images ranging from 1400 x 1400 to 4000 x 4000 pixels

• We accept JPG, JPEG, PNG, BMP, TIF, TIFF or GIF formats

• Minimum image size is 100KB and maximum is 10MB

• Stores will reject images that contain URLs, logos or branding that you don't have the right to use, blurry or pixelated images, images with prices or references to physical packaging, and pornographic imagery.

STEP 5 Click the “Stereo Track(s)” tab this is where you can add up to 30 tracks per album. If you selected “Single” on the Release Details tab, you will only be able to add one track. Albums with multiple tracks, you can click and drag any track in the list to designate how you would like the track order to appear. A very convenient tool when you have a portfolio catalog to manage.

STEP 7 Enter the track details - Open the “Track Details” tab and provide all required information for each track, whether it’s for streaming, purchasing, or both. Add lyrics, define the preview section for each track, and apply a Parental Advisory warning if necessary. If there are collaborators, click the “Add Participant & Role(s)” button to specify their roles and set earnings split percentages. If you are the sole artist, list yourself as a participant and assign 100% of the payout to your account. For first-time users, click the small plus (+) icon in the participant field to enter your PayPal details for receiving payments. Note: You can add unlimited collaborators at no extra cost.

STEP 8 Select Your Streaming Destinations: Navigate to the “Outlet Details” tab to choose the streaming platforms where you want your music to be available. You can opt to distribute your release to all current and future MusicXR-supported platforms at no extra cost. Additionally, you have the flexibility to set specific release dates for individual outlets and monitor your release status. Once you've finalized your selections, scroll to the bottom, accept the terms, and click “Review and Distribute.” Please note that depending on the streaming platform, it may take 3–8 days for your release to appear.

     STEP 6 Spatial Audio Specs

• Dolby Atmos® master file must be provided as a BWF ADM file.

• 48kHz, 24-bit using 24fps timecode

• Target Loudness value should not exceed -18 LKFS measured as per ITU-R BS.1770-4

• True-peak level should not exceed -1 dB TP measured as per ITU-R BS.1770-4

• Track File Size: 1MB to 25GB

• Atmos tracks must be conformed and synced to the original stereo reference masters

• ADM and Stereo tracks need to have the same file name

• Uploading ADM files will take several minutes

STEP 2 The payment and new release tab work hand in hand if you subscribe first then it takes you to the new release set up OR you can select new release within the “Release Details” tab, select the plan you wish to use. MusicXR enables you to create your own independent label, and this is where you can also choose a plan, fill out the required fields such as your label name, artist, song title etc...

Once sign up is complete you will see the message below - when you receive your welcome email simply click the activation link and you're good to go, on your way to listing your first project.
